Incidence of breaks and leaks in fluid transfer pipes is common in all countries. Depending on the type of pipe and environmental conditions, the breaks in the pipes may be caused by a brittle failure, germination of cracks and subsequent growth of these cracks, chemical corrosion, applied stress or mechanical damages. In this field, we tried to reconstruct damaged water pipelines by using glass fiber reinforced epoxy composite patches. Also, the optimal conditions for the better adhesion of patches to the steel substrate were investigated.
